With 20 days to go the countdown focus today falls on award winning dance artist, Julie Cunningham.

Since embarking on choreographic work, Julie was the first Leverhulme Choreography Fellow at Rambert.

Julie created Julie Cunningham & Company (JCC) which was established in 2017. In it’s short life to date JCC has produced 2 sold-out runs at the Barbican Pit Theatre (2017 & 2018), a new commission for the V&A’s REVEAL festival (2017), a new evening of work at Southbank Centre presented by Rambert (2017), a sold out presentation at Edinburgh Fringe Festival as part of the 2017 British Council Showcase, and a new creation for Dance Umbrella Festival 2017, among other engagements.

Julie is developing a new movement language that draws on her technical training but expands and transforms it using improvisation and creative methods from other art forms, such as devised theatre and poetry.

Julie will have an Open Practice at Nottdance 2019 presenting opportunity to witness Julie’s current practice.
