Australian artist Luke George is collaborating with Dance4’s Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) students and their invited guests on, A Call To Actions.
A Call To Actions is the first in a three-part series, titled Public Actions, a social choreographic project by Luke George that highlights situations where bodies and objects, the artist and the public negotiate the social codes behind their collective actions. When the lines between observation and participation become blurred, artist and audience may enter into a collaborative relationship and work together to reconsider the question of art as a force for social cohesion.
A Call To Actions invites people from diverse experiences and backgrounds to take part in a series of intimate and organic performances in public spaces.
As a group
Very simple actions
In each enactment, different participants gather to meet each other, talk and perform a collective action. Previous actions have taken place so far in Melbourne (Australia) and Toulouse (France). Each action is documented and added to the growing archive of recorded actions.
To participate or observe as you like, meet at Nottingham Lakeside Arts in the foyer at 4pm.
Please note that this will happen prior to Maribé – sors de ce corps performance of Beside in the theatre at 5pm.
