Choreographers Alexandrina Hemsley, Joe Moran and Heidi Rustgaard co-host an informal roundtable considering artist representation and artist leadership in the UK.
All are warmly welcome: artists, curators, producers, those working in production, venues and organisations, audiences, supporters and interested others. The conversation will look at systemic barriers to artist leadership and representation in dance, instances of where things really work and strategies for action and advocacy.
Starting points will include artist leadership in areas of apparent conflict of interest (such as programming, curation, funding and assessment panels), barriers to participation and strategies for artist-organisation-venue joint lobbying and advocacy.
This conversation is part of a series of roundtables making up an artist-led systemic change project produced through Dance Art Foundation with support from Surf The Wave, South East Dance and Dance4 in partnership with The Place and Yorkshire Dance.
